SBAC's vision for engineering and technology (E&T) is to:

• See realised the UK aerospace industry vision for research and technology (R&T).
• Be the voice of the UK aerospace industry in E&T matters in the UK and overseas.
• Deliver and maintain a National Aerospace Technology Strategy.
• Seek to return R&T investment in UK aerospace to internationally competitive levels.

The Engineering & Technology Board and its members work to represent all of the UK aerospace industry in:

• Driving the implementation of the National Aerospace Technology Strategy (NATS).
• Ensuring that UK Government funding mechanisms meet the financial requirements of the NATS.
• Enabling UK aerospace companies to participate in NATS technology programmes.
• Identifying and defining UK requirements for European framework funding programmes.
• Working with the Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe to represent UK interests in the Europe-wide strategic research agenda.

Some of the current key concerns in E&T include the following topics.
